Momina Mustehsan Brings the Crucial Topic of Climate Change to Light as She Shines at Times Square NYC for EQUAL Pakistan

KarachiAwarded with the honor of having back-to-back chart toppers and most importantly, she is praised as an inspiration for female artists in Pakistan, Momina Mustehsan is the newest member of EQUAL Pakistan Ambassador who is lighting the Spotify billboard’s digital display at Times Square, New York City.

Momina is an emblem to show pride and pride of Pakistan that doesn’t need any introduction. As she lit her way through one of the more famous places in the world, she was sure to send an emotional message to the nation. She took time to draw interest in the issue of climate change and how it’s a major issue facing the world in the present. “Today it is Pakistan. Tomorrow, it could be your nation #ClimateEmergency” listen to her message to the world.



Through her performance, Momina joins a select group of figures that represent the growing stature of female performers in the United States. Being an activist in the core Momina also exemplifies the role of this stage to draw attention to more than one issue through her advocacy to combat climate change, offering an inspiring instance.

“I believe everyone owes it anyone who is affected by the current climate crisis. The country is in the third range of is submerged and it’s not due to greenhouse gases. It’s because of our geographical location that we face the most devastating effects caused by climate change. As a global community and now like never before, we have to unite and find out ways to reduce our carbon footprint,” said Momina, in support of her position in the face of what Pakistan and the entire world are confronting due to the rapid global warming.

Her appearance in the billboard is in conjunction with her participation in the debut season of Spotify Talks titled ‘Women in Music’. The role model and icon for young Pakistani women artists became famous after she performed an original rendition of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s “Afreen Afreen’ track alongside his brother Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. They inspired listeners across the world, all the way from UK to Canada up to the US. This month , through the EQUAL program, the track of Momina, “Tera Woh Pyar (Nawazishein Karam)” from Coke Studio Season 09, has been highlighted in the EQUAL Pakistan playlist as well as EQUAL worldwide.
