HEC And Huawei Teams Up To Organize ICT Skills Training For Pakistani Students

HEC and Huawei launched a joint initiative in Pakistan called “Huawei Seeds for the Future Programme 2022”,which will provide cutting-edge technology to the young Pakistani undergraduates who will excel in their particular technical fields to ensure to ensure Pakistan as a country will be able to grow in the technology field.

This collaboration with HEC and Huawei is in existence for seven years in various forms and has taught over 130 students and taught advanced IT techniques. Assistant Director of Learning Opportunities Abroad Higher Education Commission Pakistan states the participation of 55 pupils taken for training in China via Huawei for a two-week training throughout the years to acquire the Chinese culture and ICT abilities. The students are chosen by HEC from a variety of educational institutions.

Due to covid-19, training was delivered in online classes in the past. HEC as well as Huawei are now deciding to continue the online course this year also. According to HEC Officials have released the closing date for applications for the program, which is the 18th September 2022. HEC will select 30- 40 students in behalf of Huawei who HEC is able to determine are qualified for the program.

The requirements for applicants to be chosen for training has many aspects first of all, the applicant must be an permanent resident from Pakistan or Azad and Jammu Kashmir. applicants with dual nationalities will not be considered.

The candidate must be an undergrad with a major in any among the following categories:

Information and Communication Technology

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Business Informatics
  • Multimedia & Digital Arts
  • Software Engineering
  • Information Systems
  • Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Communication Engineering
  • Telecom Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering.

Students in these fields must be in their final year and be able to achieve a minimum 3.5 GPA out of 4 If they want to be admitted to the program. those who are in the 6th, 7th and 8th semesters may apply. Students who have completed four years of undergraduate ICT related degrees with an average CGPA at 3.5 in 4 by the summer of 2021 are also eligible.

The applicants who are less than 24 years old as of the date of submission and who have demonstrated excellent academic ability, can have the ability to speak English well, and show an intense desire to study Information Communication & Technology and related fields will consider online learning.

The training program will begin on September 26th this year, and will be completed within two weeks. Students should be available at the time of the training or they will not receive the certificate of course. The student must be equipped with all the equipment they require and should have a good internet connection. Final selection will be made based on academic excellence and Federal Govt. the quota policy. In the event of the award being finalized, applicants will not be allowed to be withdrawn.

HEC may organize individual meetings in the case of a large number of applicants and only the most experienced students who speak the best English will be chosen. If applicants submit an incomplete application form on the site it is not accepted. Candidates who have already been to the course in prior years are not suitable for the current one.
